The Big Race Banquet

Headed to the Great Race Banquet.  Hope we see you there

We are just honored to be attending the Great Race Banquet.  It was a great race with Pip vs. Bunny and then showing us it was "friends" that are the most import things in life at the end.

We remember getting ready for the big race, we had great seats.

Cleo and Amiee took the upper seats to see and cheer on Bunny and Winston took to the ground so he could make sure and see and cheer on Pip.

In case you missed it you can find all the details here at The Great Race.

We were not exactly sure what we should bring to the banquet so we had the human bake up some wonderful peanut butter treats.

Peanut Butter Treats

And some of the famous pupcakes that she had made for Winston's Bark Day.

Here are lots more blogs that are pawticipating in the Banquet.  Make sure you check them out as well.

Also along with the the banquet and all the fun activities, we will be kicking off the auction for our dear furend Richie.   The auction starts this Saturday and runs through March 13.  All proceeds will help to cover medical costs for Richie.  Richie is a foster dog and his rescue organization is having financial troubles.  He needs care now, but his veterinarian cannot see him until some of his bills are paid. You can find all the details for that at the new auction Site http://pawsofpeace.blogspot.com/ The site opens SATURDAY!!  Or you can click on the picture on the sidebar to get to the auction site as well.

We have Layla a sweet basset hound that we know from the Illinois Basset Waddle.

We have Bailey are very first blogging buddy all the way from Scotland.  She is a true Diva, from what we can tell and Winston is just a little smitten on this girl.

Avalon and Sammie who we got to know from the Jazzie Gift Exchange.  These girls really like to show their stuff.

There are so many great entries for this category and who would have thought there were so many Shameless Diva fur-kids out there.  Don't you know that once its on the internet you can never get rid of it.

We will be busy all day finishing up our reading of these great postings and casting our vote by early evening.  We want to wish GOOD LUCK to all those SHAMELESS DIVAS out there.

BUT WAIT..........

WE NEED YOUR HELP.........

Cleo has entered herself into the side competetion that Hootie and Baby Rocket are having.  We need your votes to help us win the Group Photo Category and Individual Pooches.  So won't you please go over and check out all the great entries for this Side Competetion.

Winston's 4th Bark Day Celebration (1/30/2011)

We had a very low key celebration with Winston with the immediate family.  I made my very first attempt at making pup cakes for him.  The thing is I didn't have have a large muffin tin so I just arranged them in pie pan.  So he sort of had a pup cake pie.

Winston was served breakfast and dinner in the bowl that I won from Blueberry's auction.  It came with a story behind the "red" theme.

Winston eating birthday breakfast, in the recliner

We waited till around Noon for them to try the famous peanut butter pup cake pie that mom made the day before.  She makes us treats all the time but this was the first attempt at pup cakes minus the muffin tin.

Pup cakes before being frosted

Winston sampled the frosting

HoundDogMom's creative decorating skills

More frosting sampling.  I guess different color must taste different

Finally, we get to taste these tasty treats.

Winston licked all the frosting off his before running into the other room

Of course, he runs to the couch

Cleo also licked all the frosting off first

I think Cleo felt that maybe just a little bit to much Peanut Butter.  That stuff is sticky!

Amiee enjoyed the frosting first as well

Yum Yum

We have no pictures of the pressies that he got, because I failed to take pictures.  But overall, I think it was a great day we eat and lounged around and snuggled all day.  The pup cakes were a huge hit and were so easy to make.

Thanks for all the great birthday wishes that you sent my way.

Healing Vibes are needed for Twix

We are needing some healing vibes and Power of the Paw sent to Twix.  We have just heard that Twix has taken a serious turn and the VET is very confused and not sure exactly what is causing her sickies.  Twix's Mom and Dad are open for any ideas if you have them.

Please if you have extra minutes stop by and visit and leave her some words of encouragement.

Also, if you have any suggestions for her Mom and Dad, please leave them on their blog.  There might just be that one person in blogville that has the magic answer.

Surviving Snowpocalypse 2011 (2/2/2011)

Snowpocalypse 2011
(This appears to be the official name everyone has given this storm)

Just like all our other blogging friends in the MidWest we got SNOW. Not as much as some of our Illinois friends, but once you get more than a couple of inches it just all seems to blend together. In Bloomington, IL we got a reported 13 inches, but with 50mph winds we woke up to about 2 foot drifts in the backyard. Could not open either the front door or the back door and had no idea where the street began and where it ended. We finally got brave after HDD went out and sholved our paths for us. We played outside most of the day, but Mom made us come in and warm our toes up when she seen Cleo standing on 3 legs.

Looking out our backdoor

Looking out our side window from indoors, there is a road out there

This is a picture of the cat shelter for all the outside door cats eat and stay.  They are actually inside that topper and will come out of the small whole.  The other is their platform/cover that they get fed on.

Back yard pictures, and yes Winston has his own fire hydrant.

Amiee wishing Daddy would get busy shoveling.

Looking out front door, could hardly open it for the drift.

Amiee trying to get a little morale support.

I do believe she is having an "Insane Cracker Dog" momment here before the paths got made for them.

Amiee doing a little preliminary plowing

HDD shoveling the ramp to begin the paths

These paths are pretty much identical as what they run in the summer time amazing hey sniff it out

HDD beginning to shovel the paths

This aeaa out here is pretty much the poop station, so it got dug out right away

Stupid driver

We also have a great video of the dogs being all crazy that we will post later.  This one was so long with pictures, we hope we didn't get bored.
