2009 Illinois Basset Bash/Waddle - Waddle Day

Cleo and Amiee reporting again for the 2009 Illinois Basset Bash/Waddle. Today we will be covering the actual "Waddle Day". This the day that 10 times as many bassets that were here for the bash show up. On Waddle Day we must be all on leash and wear our very nice bandanas that we were given. This lets GABR know that we registered for the waddle and they can have an idea how many of us there was. The report that we got was that there were over 900 bassets waddling for GABR on Sunday. If you have never seen the Basset Waddle, it is an event you should try to make. The town of Dwight, IL really get into their parade and so enjoy the bassets leading the parade. The kids are there to receive lots of smooches and a few were handing out little doggie treats. Always, asking for permission to do this before hand.

Amiee and I just hanging at the campsite before all the activites began for the big Waddle.

These pictures are of Brett - The Green Bay Packer Fan. He was hanging out underneath our awning for the morning before the Waddle was to begin. He was so handsome and just the sweetest thing. As you can see HDM could not get enough of him and Amiee really wasn't sure she wanted anything to do with him.

These are some random pictures of various bassets that were just hanging out everywhere before the Waddle Parade was to start. These are some random pictures of us and all the bassets waiting on Waddle Way to begin the parade. This little 3rd grader sang the National Anthen at the start of the parade. We wish we would have video taped her because she was awesome. Okay, they have given us the all clear. Waddle away Bassets!
Well I sure hope you have enjoyed our reporting of the 2009 Illinois Basset Bash/Waddle from Dwight, IL. We had a great time reporting but it is very hard work being a "Reporting Basset". We will definately have to take more naps prior to leaving for next year's Waddle. This is what we looked like for our road trip home.
Amiee sure wishing she would have taken more naps. I don't think she will be ready to play with Winston when we get home.
Cleo just trying to find the right spot to park herself.
A little cheek-to-cheek snuggling.

See ya at next year's waddle.
