HoundDogMom Needs Some Advice

HoundDogMom here,

I am working on several cross-stitch items for our upcoming Basset Ball Auction in April.  I have one item done and now I need to mat it and frame it but I am needing some guidance on what colors to use.

Here is my project I have completed and how would you mat it.  What color would you use.  Not knowing who will purchase and what colors they may have in their house.

As I value my blogging friends input please leave a comment if you have a good color choice I should use.

Thanks,
HoundDogMom

  1. Hi HDM!
I would put it in black. Black seems to be the "hot color" for frames lately...and then anyone can fit it in their home decor easily.

  2. I'd use black because I think it will really make the colors you used pop!

  4. It's hardly original, but we really were going to say black even before we knew everyone else thought the same thing.

  5. I would pick up the pink or the blue in it. When you pick a frame, out your fingers in the shape of a box and look through the box. Put the box to the corner so you can see both the frame and the cross -stitch. Then you get an idea of if it works well together. The cross-stitch looks wonderful!

  6. I would mat it in a similar blue. No pink though, it might be overkill. Just remember that if the person who purchases this doesn't like the mat color..they'll just change it. Now worries! It looks wonderfull!

  8. We're all black dogs in this house so we vote for black too.

  9. I think you could do either blue or black. I prefer blue, but it's my favorite color so I'm a bit biased :-) Beautiful cross stitch!
