New Look for Christmas
We are slowly getting ready for Christmas at the Hound House. We are going to be working on the Christmas card photos or outtakes this weekend so we can get them printed in the mail next week. But in the mean time please enjoy our new Blog Header and Background that the talented Miss Judi over at SASS designed for us.
Cleo is still very heavy in our hearts and I wasn't quite ready to have her picture moved off the blog header just yet. So Miss Judi was so creative and incorporated her into the header for as an angel watching over Winston and Amiee.
We are so much in LOVE with our new header and design look for the holidays. If you are needing a new look for the holidays, just stop on over at the SASS blog and leave a comment. Miss Judi will get back with on the details and the magic will begin and next thing you know you have a brand new look.
Thank you so much Miss Judi for our new look.

Show Us Your Bird - For Sarge
All week long Sarge has been hosting GIVE US THE BIRD and we are finally going to get to pawticipate on the final day. See our Mom has been looking outside all week for a picture of a bird, but has not found any. Little did she know we had birds all over the house, yes in the house. So here ya go Sarge we are giving you the BIRD today.
Know here are some of the most important birds that we think exist in the world today. Mom has a lot of these throughout the house, so we hope you enjoy our "EAGLES" that are stored in a glass cabinet that we are not allowed to touch.
We hope you enjoyed our post on "GIVE US THE BIRD".
Don't forget the CROSSED-PAWS Christmas Auction ends tomorrow and there are still a lot of great things that don't have any bids on them. Why not start some shopping today and avoid all the crowds. We have a few things picked out and we keep checking to make sure nobody out bids us. Also, they just added a bunch of new stuff was added, so click on the link above and check it out.

GABR Transport (Isabella, Gabe and Felix)
This past Saturday I had the opportunity to help GABR with another transport. This was actually the first time I have had bassets in the BUV on both ways of the trip. That sure makes a lot more fun then riding all by yourself.
A few months ago one of the Foster Parents for GABR was attacked by 2 big dogs in Indiana. He had just got done walking the neighbor girl home from visiting his bassets. The dogs came charging at him and he suffered over 70+ bite wounds and his one ear was pretty mangled but he is one tough cookie. He was able to finally get the dogs off him and get to his house where he could call for help. The dogs were PTS immediately and the owners could not prove any of their rabies shots so he must endure that know. He spent several days in the hospital then several weeks recuping with his family. During all this all his foster dogs and his own bassets had to be farmed out for some extra loving care while he recovered. Well he finally recovered and got we have been in the process of reuinting him with all his fur-babies.
Isabella was the last one of his fur-babies to make it back home and I was so honored to be part of her journey back to her Daddy. Isabella is a very special girl as she is one of the GABR Parvo puppies from about 5 years ago. Isabella was not even expected to walk let alone live through her experience. Marshall and his wife did such an awesome job with Isabella and she is one strong girl that walks like there is no tomorrow.
Well since Isabella was headed to Dwight for her transport back to Daddy, they decided to go ahead and move Gabe to his foster home as well. So Gabe and Isabella rode in the BUV to Dwight when they were turned over to another transporter for the rest of the trip. Gabe was going to his foster family and Isabella to her Daddy.

Isabella
Isabella greeting her Daddy! Priceless!
And this is Gabe. Gabe is new to GABR and was just making his way to his Foster home. He was about 5-6 years old and one of the sweetest soles. He loved to be talked to and to have tons of belly rubs. I also found out that he likes to stick his head out the window when he rides. This is not safe practice so we immediately rolled that window up.
Then on our trip back to Bloomington we brought Felix. Felix was making her way to St. Louis to be fostered by a wonderful lady from GABR. Felix has already have a potential adopter that is interested in her. She was the most gorgous basset and had a great figure. She had some meat on her bones.

Christmas Happenings in Blogville
We have lots of things that are starting to gear up for the Christmas Holidays in blogville. We just want to make sure that we are spreading the word and making sure you are getting all your items checked off so you are ready for the big day.
You had to sign up for this event a few weeks ago. So if you did, you will want to click on the link above to be directed to Jazzi's post on who you were paired up with. We are so excited here at The Hound House and are working with our group to see what things they are needing.
You still have time to submit your information to the appropriate elves to pawticipate in this great event. It is so much fun to get more cards then our peeps during the Holiday season. Click HERE for the post that will give you the details on how to pawticipate. If you have submitted your information already, super. You will receive an email a few days after the deadline with all the necessary information to start mailing your cards. So if you haven't already let the outtakes begin, or I mean let the picture taking happen. It will be a lengthy list as we have lots of doggies/kitties on it. You can mail to whoever you would like on the list. There are some new ones on there and some that we don't know real well, that would like cards. It is always nice to meet and make new friends.
So if you haven't already let the outtakes begin, or I mean let the picture taking happen.
Crossed-Paws has launched a new blog and are having a Christmas Auction to help raise funds for a few of our fur-ends that are needing a little assistance. This is a great time to purchase some Christmas gifts and not even have to leave the house. Also, you will be helping your blog fur-friends in the process. You can see the current (growing) list of auction items that is being put together and will go up for bid on November 19th. We have donated a few items, do you have anything you could consider donating. Click the link above for details on how to pawticipate or donate.

Know this is the most awesome thing that Sarge and his Momma have come up with. Our very own Blogville Community Calendar. I don't know about all your humans, but our Mom she is very forgetful and can never remember when all the the great things are going to happen. She can't remember when they start, what she has to do to enter, when they end or sometimes she doesn't even know what all she is missing or should we say what we are missing. She strongly recommends that you check out the Blogville Community Calendar by clicking the link above. You won't be sorry that you did. You will be so amazed at all the great things that are happening in Blogville.

Rescue Me Week - Day #5
This is the final day for Mazie's Rescue Me Week.
One of our favorite rescues that we are heavily involved with is Guardian Angel Basset Rescue (GABR). Mom volunteers as a transporter for them and we move bassets from shelters, to their foster homes, to their furever homes.
Before we get started though we have an important update........
Bean and Lincoln that we featured on Tuesday Rescue Me Week just got adopted and have found their fur-ever home together.
Congratulations to Bean and Lincoln!
The last couple of days we have highlighted the bonded basset pairs and the senior bassets that are in foster with GABR. Since today is the final day for Mazie's Rescue Me Week we are going to go ahead and show you all the remaining bassets that are available for adoption. So here ya go.
Bizzy - 4 Year Old Female
Bloodhound Coloring in a Basset Body (Best of Both Breeds)
Delilah - 6 year old (Beagle/Basset) female
Lance - 4 year old male
Mya - 2 year old female
Sadie - 2 year old female
Winston
So if you can open your home to a hound just click on over to the GABR website for information on how to adopt to complete the necessary paperwork.
Mazie thank you so much for hosting this great event this week. It has been a joy to highlight the fur-babies that need forever homes and to honor your Grampa J.
