1st Project -
Mr. Pip was having a Superhero Party for his blog anniversary. Along with this he had a comment-a-thon for each party of the Superhero Party. Since there are so many superheros out there, it had to be broken into several different posts. So we volunteered to sponsor one of the postings. Well that particular posting received 82 comments. We got that little piece of plastic out of the Mom's purse (without any teeth marks) and proceeded to make our donation to Joplin Humane Society for $82.00 green bucks, and from reading Mr. Pip's blog we raised a whole lot of money for them. Awesome and we are glad to help celebrate with Mr. Pip and all the superhero's out there. Mr. Pip's party could not have been better named with how it turned out. EVERYONE IS A SUPERHERO for raising green bucks for the homeless fur-kids in Joplin.
2nd Project -
Tank organized an Operation Toto for the fur-friends that have been left homeless by the tornado's in Joplin, MO. You can read all about it on his blog here. We are sending our human out to retrieve these immediately and get them in the mail.
Here's the address:

Well our human listens pretty good to three howling hounds on the importance of completing this in a timely fashion, unlike some of her postings that are so behind. She jumped into action and went to the fabric store. Did you know that fleece material is really cheap this time of the year. She purchased some material that was enough to make two fleece blankets. We also had a couple of new fleece blankets that were just stuck back in a corner for some reason, so we included those as well. We also thought maybe we should send a few little toys with the blankets. Heck you can't have a blankie without a toy to snuggle with. So here are a couple of pictures that we got snapped before the package went to the post office.
Fleece Blanket #1
Fleece Blanket #2 (eagles)
Pictures of the store purchased ones
All the blankets in the box
We then added a few leashes, collars, and toys
We addressed it and added our Project Toto badge on the outside
Winston and Amiee sealing it with a kiss before we mail it off
Winston just thought he needed a few extra minutes to reflect on what we were doing
Sniffs, The HoundDogs
(Note from HDM - These were actually mailed earlier in the week and they should be arriving today at the Joplin Humane Society)
Wowzers!!! You hounds and your mom are AMAZING!! Those blankets, collars, and toys will be so appreciated by the shelter and most of all by the animals they will help comfort. Thanks so much for all your efforts on behalf of animals in need!!!!
ReplyDeleteYour pal, Pip
Wowzers is right! THANK YOU for being so generous and thoughtful. You made my day and I'm sure the shelter will be most appreciative!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful box of loot for the orphan dogs. I hope that they can find their humans soon and in the meantime they will be all snuggling in those blankets and enjoying the noms.

You make me proud to be a hound! What a great help all that stuff will be. Dad has some friend in the Search and Rescue group who are down in Joplin looking for survivors. They can use all the help they can get down there from what we've heard! You have great hearts!
