We Got Snow

Our First Snow of 2010

Well the weatherman was correct for the weekend.  We got about 4 inches of snow Friday night and enjoyed a little bit of it on Saturday.  But it was pretty fridge cold out and Mom was so afraid our little paws would freeze.  Here are a few pictures of the snow.

What Can I Get Into Today

We got just a little bit of snow, not as much as we wanted and it was very cold outside.  So I decided to stay in and help HDM do a little painting.  As you can see I think my painting experience was very successful.

HDM got me all cleaned up before the paint dried all the way.  I then had to find something else to get into.

TREATS LEFT OUT FOR ME!

Let's see dirty dish water and a whole dish of treats left open.  Watch and take lessons Amiee, I will show you how it is done!

You must stand tall on your back legs, on your tippy toes, stretch the head, grap it with your nose and pull it towards you.

And you receive some very sweet success, tasty treats.

Amiee you want to try.
I don't think my legs and tippy toes are as long as Winston.

Glad I had you Winston my "Buddy" to snatch me a few treats while HDM was busy taking pictures.  These types of things would normally drive her crazy, but anymore she just gets the camera.

We hope to get out and get some new snow pictures today, but again it is chilly here in Illinois.  But so thankful we didn't get 30 inches of snow like they did in Washington, DC.  Us bassets would be in trouble with that much snow.

Snow Day - Part II

Hey HDM, I think our feet have warmed up and we are ready to tackle this -20 stuff one more time.

I think there is a critter up here Winston. Cleo skipped on the second attempt at snow day, that is why she is not in any pictures.

These snow days are hard work.

Good Night,

Snow You Say

This was out the front door when we woke up Thursday morning (1/7/10).
This was out our back door this morning when we woke up. HDM had been telling us we were going to be getting a fresh coat of snow on the ground. Boy was she right this time, when we woke up we had approximately 3.5 inches on the ground with another 3-4 expected throughout the day.
Well the door has been open so we can begin our journey. Even though HDM got a new camera, these may not be the best quality. Since she refused to go outside and take pictures. She was taking them through the screen door and every know and then would open the door and poke her head out with the camera.
Of course, I don't journey to far from the door on a day like this. But could you please put away that camera while I do my business. Since you do not have 4-paws, have no idea what it is like to have go pee in -20 degree.
Boy my face sure is cold, what is this stuff but let me get it off before you before you take a picture.
A little shake, check out that frozen slime (I mean drool) coming out of my mouth.
There, how's that....
What, snow on my nose.
Honestly, we all just love the snow but it is very hard to have that much fun when your little paws freeze within 5 mins. That is because someone said it is below zero (-20), whatever that means. But in our terms that means for some quick freezing drool and quick potty trips. HDM has said maybe we need some snow paw booties, we think not. So we thought we would torment HDM some before settling in for a little nap.
Winston, I really want to see what is on that counter.
Not before I check out the situation first. It appears a package has arrived but I don't think it is food related.
Well lets see do I want the couch or the chair? Oh, the joys of heat and couches.
It sure is a good thing I am little. See Tabby takes almost two whole cushions on the couch. The Hounddogs

Snow Day/Cold Day

Hey HDM, it looks like there is snow outside. Can we please go outside and play.
Snow...Snow...and more Snow....Also very cold but when you are running and playing it keeps you warm. Unless them long ears get wet.
What the heck are those girls doing over there. I don't see anything of interest.
Cleo come help there is something over here.
Game of tag anyone?
Know what the heck did you do that for HDM?
Things look so much better when you are on top of the picnic table. Plus you can eat the snow because it is not "yellow".
Snow Days are very exhausting.......
